PayDotCom – The Best Alternative To Clickbank?

Since the beginning of November, when my Clickbank sales started to fluctuate unusually, I’ve been looking for an alternative affiliate network. While there are lots of different affiliate networks for people who make money online, the one which I think is quite close to Clickbank in terms of performance and products, is PayDotCom.

If you have been a member of Clickbank for quite long, then you probably understand why I was looking for an alternative. Of course, Clickbank is known as the best affiliate network in the world, but they are constantly having some weird problems, such as not tracking sales, checkout page issues, etc, which affect our sales. I’m not trying to say that CB is crap, and you have to quit using them, but it’s a good idea to diversify your efforts.

So let’s look into PayDotCom a bit more briefly. The reason why I like them is because just in general, they are very similar to Clickbank. The marketplace is structured in the same way, the products use the same style of sales letters, and products are sorted by APS (Affiliate Power Score), which is quite similar to gravity on CB. The biggest difference between PDC and Clickbank is payment system.

First of all, customers can only purchase products using their Paypal accounts, meaning if they are not registered, they won’t be able to buy anything. Certainly, getting a Paypal account is not a long process, but some people are lazy, and they just want to get it done right now, without any further steps. Also PDC don’t pay their affiliates. This is the job of the publishers. They have to pay to people, who promote their products, and each publisher decides, when they want to do it. Usually it’s twice a month, on 15th and 30th.

I personally think that PayDotCom is the best alternative to Clickbank, if you want to work with digital products. Basically, the main difference between these two affiliate networks is the payment system. Clickbank accepts credit cards, and can pay you via DD or checks, but PDC is only Paypal. Overall, they are pretty much the same, and you should definitely consider using PayDotCom as your second source of income. Who knows, maybe one day, your PDC sales will outperform Clickbank.

There are tons of ways how you can promote products, whether they are from CB or PDC, but blogging is one of the most powerful ways to do it. It’s getting popular rapidly, and if you are not taking advantage of it, then you are missing out a big thing. If you want to find out what it’s all about, and how to make money online blogging, then Rob Benwell’s Blogging to the Bank is the best ebook you can read. 1. Paydotcom is probably one of the best CB alternatives out there but there is something that I don`t like about this network.

I don`t like the fact that the vendors have to pay their affiliates. What if one day, a vendor decide to run with all his affiliates money. Who`s going to pay us.

I think this is one of the reasons why a lot of affiliates stay away from Paydotcom…..I bet you if they fix this little issue, a lot of CB affiliates will go to them.

They already have some great digital products on their network.

  2. If you are promoting Digital Products, I believe paydotcom can be the best alternative to Clickbank but to be honest with you, I don`t like their Payment System and that`s why I stay away from this network.

Otherwise if you just looking to any other alternatives for CB, you can always check out CJ, Copeac, linkshare and etc….

  3. Paul, I fully agree with you, and that’s what I also don’t like about PayDotCom. In terms of payments, Clickbank seems to be better.

Megarudy, I’ve never used Copeac, Linkshare or anything similar, because I like to stick with the “biggies” :) Although others might be good as well.

  4. I think that PayDotCom is decent in terms of an alternative to Clickbank but it still really isn’t that great. Yeah, there are some good products related to internet marketing and making money online. But outside of that there really isn’t much to choose from.

You should try getting into CPA. I’ve recently just started applying to a few networks like Hydra, Neverblue, and Copeac. It’s a little bit harder to get into CPA networks but I definitely think it’s worth it.

Just do a little digging and you can definitely find some nice affiliate programs in whatever niches you promote outside of internet marketing.

  5. Max, nice advice. I’ve never actually tried using CPA networks, and it might be a good idea to try them out.

    Cheers

  6. You see Steven, I told you to check out COPEAC, you will find some good stuffs to promote over there, especially if you are in the ringtones business.

If you are interested, you can get in touch me with and I will talk to you about it.
